This issue of the magazine has a very basic layout, it features the logo/magazine name in the top left corner with the slogan located above it.

The magazine's colour scheme consists if red, white and black in order to gain the attention of the audience and attract them to the main articles and features of the magazine. The cover features artists such as Method Man, Juelz Santana and Rick Ross as they arte involved in DEF JAM 25, they have highlighted the artists names in order to attract established fans of the artists.

The magazine is clearly aimed at hip-hop fans, as they simply state "DEF JAM 25" (The 25th anniversary of Def Jam records). Readers without an intrest in hip-hop would find themselves lost. I didn't even know this before I researched it.
I aim to replicate the style of this magazine to a certain extent, as I am creating an Alternative hip hop/Rock magazine as opposed to a pure hip hop magazine. I feel this is essential as fans of Alternative hip hop and Rock tend to differ greatly to fans of hip hop.
